I'm having issues getting Kinect 2 to work with windows 8.1 and a Quadra 4000. I installed a new USB 3.0 controller (DP 2-port USB 3.0 PCIe Host) and followed the troubleshooting guide to the letter and I'm still getting problems. In device manager the WDF KinectSensor Interface 0 shows a problem but I've exhausted all options. I have a screenshot but this forum won't allow me to upload the image until my account is verified apparently. Sigh. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Which PCI Express port did you use? Did you try to use the x16 slot and move your GPU to another one? You will need to check with the motherboard manufacturer/OEM to know which slots are Gen 2.0 enabled. Those will the only ones capable of the 5.0GB/s bandwidth required for USB3.
