Seems  like you need to check the manufacturer for your usb-host controller. Kinect might not get all the power and bandwidth it needs. I had it on my laptop as well. Plus your graphic card and processor could be an issue. Maybe not now, but later for sure - not enough computational power.

Did you check in the device manager if system sees Kinect as properly functioning device?
