We are developing a mobile robot. Can anybody please tell me whether anybody has tested the performance of the Kinect Sensor in Outdoor Environments especially in direct sunlight? I want to know how the new Kinect v2 Sensor would perform in Sunlight conditions?

From what I understand the infrared coming from direct sunlight is a hundred times stronger than the IR emitter. This essentially blinds both the Infrared and Depth streams, making them unusable. It should be less in indirect or diffused light, but I do not know of anyone who has tried.
