Just purchased some Expression Studio 4 Ultimate licenses via Volume Licensing (not MSDN Dreamspark, etc... these are retail pricing).  Downloaded the .iso from the eopen site with the pre-baked serial/activation, uninstalled the Expression Studio trial that was previously installed.  Rebooted the machine and then installed Expression Studio from the downloaded .iso.

BUT-

In Expression Encoder, when I try and select .mp4 output, I get the dreaded "This functionality is only available in the fully-featured Expression Encoder Pro" - which of course is what I was under the impression that I was buying!  Under Help>About it does say Expression Pro (without codecs).

Why did I end up with a "without codecs" version?  Has anyone run into this problem and more importantly is there a solution?

BTW:  I searched before posting this, but all of the "answered" posts are referring to the fact that MSDN and other download versions don't offer the codecs.  I have a fully-paid-for version and STILL don't have the codecs.  What gives?

I got this answer from our Sales and Marketing team:

"Unfortunately due to tracking and reporting concerns, we were not able to include third-party codecs in Expression Studio 4 Ultimate acquired through volume licensing; we apologize for the inconvenience.  The most affordable way to acquire the codecs is to purchase Expression Encoder Pro on the volume licensing pricelist through your reseller.  Thank you very much for your patience and your support for Expression Encoder."
