Since two weeks i work in a new company as the Head of Systemadministration.

At the moment i never work with SharePoint, therefore it's a little difficult for me. The problem is, that the last IT Administrator didn't document anything and in the last days he work with the permissions of Sharepoint - and now both of us don't have any permissions too change the layout of the website. You know, the Edit Button for the Website is missing, .. for example.

It's weird because i could become the owner of the website but i can't change the layout from it.

Is there any person who can help me to get the permissions back ?

Hi Gh00ku - There are admin rights built into SharePoint that would solve this. For your personal account that you use to work with the site, you should make that user a site collection administrator at a minimum. Doing so will give you ultimate rights over everything, even if rights aren't explicitly given to you. You may need to log in as the Farm Admin account to do this if your current account does not have rights.
