Even though I have a working version of FrontPage 2000 installed, the upgrade version of Expression Web2 will not accept my product key. In their infinite wisdom, MS will not provide tech support for this issue expect through their paid support subscription service. So it appears that, as usual with MS, "let the buyer beware" is still excellent advise. Unfortunately, that does not get me a working product key. Any suggestions?

Can you confirm the following:

* Are you entering the actual product key and not one of the other codes that often are part of the packaging (like bar code numbers etc) - The Product Key should be on a yellowy-orange coloured sticker and labelled "PRODUCT KEY", typically on (or inside) the DVD case -under the disk/s.  It might also be on the back cover of the case.

* If you purchased the full licence online (no retail packaging or disk), then the CD/Licence key should be in your receipt of payment/confirmation email.

* Note that some of the characters in the product key code might look similar e.g. 8 and B, I and 1.  Double check you're entering the correct character.

This is a peer to peer group, which means we can't troubleshoot something that's happening on your machine specifically; most of use have working copies of EW, so it's not a known issue or even a major issue.  If you double check the points above, please try again and report back here.

One last thing, have you been running EW as the trial licence, and activated the full (paid) licence?  ARe you sure you're using the correct product key, i.e. the one paid for, rather than the trial key?
