I have created one workflow (see attachment) and configured SMTP server details in the central administration page and also in IIS manager. I am facing following issues:

1) SharePoint doesn't authenticate to the SMTP server configured in CA, so you normally have to configure something on the email server to tell it to accept unauthenticated mail from the SharePoint server or it won't work.  Did you do that?

2) You can view the history log messages in the status of the workflow instance. That should be accessible from the list or library where you have attached your workflow.  Workflows always work in the context of some SharePoint object (site, listitem, document, etc.)
