We have few standalone Azure ARM Virtual Machines (live and used as a production servers e.g. SQL as well as Web server) which were provisioned quite some time ago when managed disk option was not present and hence currently they are not using managed disk feature. SQL VM has premium data disk attached to it.

Understanding the value of migrating the VMs to use the managed disks, we plan to migrate them however looking for confirmation on points below

• Azure portal itself has started to show an option to get this migration done which sounds quick and easy way to go, does anyone has any checklist for things to consider before we go ahead and use the option?
• Since SQL box has premium data disk attached to it, will it also be migrated using portal as a part of VM migration activity?
• Will migration of the disks ensure that there will not be any data loss? 
• Will there be any VM downtime and if yes, approximate how much time this activity takes to finish? does this depend on size of the data on existing disks?
• Assurance we are looking for is, we do not want to loose any of our existing data and expect that even after migrating to managed disks - the VMs continue to respond as they currently do and we wont have to go through any additional setup (this is crucial because the VMs are already live).
