The Lync Client API does not have a meeting recording feature. You can use the Lync client itself and start a "Meet Now" meeting.  This type of meeting does not require that you invite users. Once your meet now meeting has started, you can start the recording feature, share a desktop, monitor, or process, record the content you are interested in, and then stop recording. When you have stopped recording, you get a dialog that lets you choose both the format and location to save your recording.
