Hi,

I am migrating a business application from SP2010 to SP2016 using a third party tool.

The contents are all migrating well and now I need to migrate the master page from SP2010 to SP2016 which should be a manual process.

At this stage; I need to keep the same look and feel for new SP2016 application as it was of SP2010.

Please advise

Hey hello,

i think you will need to update that master page manualy or better create a new one based on the new SharePoint 2016 master page scheme. 

You can start by downloading one of this:  https://github.com/rdrisgill/sharepoint-starter-masterpages

And add your branding. 

We have made exact same thing in one of our projects, migrated from SP2010 to SP2016 and we had to create a new MasterPage for SharePoint 2016.
