I try to encode video into the smooth stream using EE4 SDK. I have two servers - test and production. If I encode video on my test server it works fine and I am able to stream it from both servers. If I try to encode the same video on my production server and the source video contains audio data the encoded video can not be streamed neither from test server nor production server. To play the video I use Silverlight Media Framework and it gives the error AG_E_NETWORK_ERROR. But If I try to play the encoded ismv file in Windows Media Player it works just fine. The .ism and .ismc files do not contain anything strange.

Both servers have the same OS which is Windows Server 2008 x64, and the same Expression Encoder 4 Pro. I tried to install diffrent audio codecs on my production server and tried to use diffrent video/audio encoding options - it all seems to be useless. Any thoughts would be appreciated. 2) The Smooth Streaming format emitted by Expression Encoder 4 is an updated format compared to what was emitted by Expression Encoder 3.   The Smooth Streaming support build into SMF V1.x understands the EE3 version but not the EE4 version.   You might need to upgrade to a newer version of the SMF and/or the released version of the Smooth Streaming Media Element  http://www.iis.net/download/SmoothClient

4) It might be a useful exercise to experiment with the "standard" player template included in EE4 -- if your content plays with that -- then you know the issue has somethign to do with the SMF player.  If playback fails also with the "standard" EE4 template then the issue is more likely a server configuration issue.
